For those cruising the western side of Georgian Bay, stops in Wingfield Basin, Tobermory, Flower Pot and Club Islands also end in Killarney.

After exploring Killarney, we will enter the fabled North Channel stopping at Covered Portage Cove, Baie Fine, Mary Ann Cove and the Pool. Explore the hiking trails to Casson’s Peak and Topaz Lake in its mountain glory. Continuing westward, stops will take in the communities of Manitowaning, Little Current, Kagawong, Gore Bay and Spanish. Included will be visits to the world renown anchorages in the Benjamin Islands, Croker, Fox, Oak Bay, Beardrop and Long Point Cove.

About Roy Eaton

If you have ever cruised the North Channel of Lake Huron, you've no doubt heard about the Little Current Cruisers’ Net. The founder and Net Controller for the past twelve seasons is Roy Eaton, known as ‘the Voice of the North Channel’. Each morning during July and August, on VHF Channel 71 at 9 a.m., boaters throughout the North Channel tune in to hear the latest marine weather, news and events across the North Channel. This past summer, 5,860 calls were received.

Roy and his wife Margaret have sailed all the Great Lakes. After retirement as Principal of Manitoulin Secondary School, they sailed on a nine-month cruise taking them from Little Current, down the ICW to Florida and across the Gulf Stream to spend 3 months exploring the Abacos.

Roy was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the America’s Great Loop Cruising Association and an Honorary Membership in the Great Lakes Cruising Club for his contributions to the boating community. He was the first recipient of an Honorary Membership in the Trailer/Sailors Association. The Safe Boating Council of Canada honoured Roy as Volunteer of the Year for his contributions to safe boating.
