Seminar Details

Join Canadian Ocean Racing for a panel discussion on offshore sailing in Canada. Members of the offshore sailing team share personal accounts of how they each built their careers in offshore sailing - and how you can too! From tall ship education programs to international crewing opportunities, each sailor uniquely finds their path to offshore sailing. Come to this session to learn more about the offshore sailing lifestyle, and how you can bridge the gap from offshore sailing to offshore racing. As Canada’s only dedicated offshore racing program, Canadian Ocean Racing offers unique experiences and opportunities for Canadian sailors looking to sail offshore. Join us to hear about our experience sailing Canada coast to coast and crossing the Atlantic Ocean after a hurricane! www.canadianoceanracing.com

About Morgen Watson

Morgen Watson is the co-founder and co-skipper of Canadian Ocean Racing, which is Canada’s premier offshore racing program. Morgen founded the racing team with skipper Eric Holden after winning the Clipper Round the World Race in 2014. Recently, Morgen has competed as Eric’s co-skipper for the Transat Jacques Vabre Race onboard O Canada. Before the TJV Race, Morgen sailed O Canada west to east coast Canada (7000 nm via the Panama Canal) while touring and raising funds for the team’s campaign. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Morgen found his passion for sailing later in life, circumnavigating the Atlantic on the tall ship SY Frederic Chopin with Class Afloat when he was 18. Since then, Morgen has won a race around the world and intends to build a career in offshore racing
